Hahaha you’re probably wondering what’s up with that title? Well, when I first started photographing my jewelry, I knew I needed some kind of backdrop so that whatever room I was taking pictures in my house would not be part of the picture! I first started using foam board you can buy at craft stores. It has foam sandwiched between 2 pieces of poster board and comes in a variety of colors for fairly cheap. I used 4 pieces. One for the bottom, 1 for each side, and 1 for the back. The easiest place for me to set this up was on the floor with a step stool behind the back board which held my light. Now, this may sound simple…but I have cats. I love them but they seem to know when I am setting up. I wait until they are all asleep, I quietly sneek and set up without making a sound and as soon as I have my piece of jewelry in place and am ready to take a picture-bam! their keen sense of knowing there is some sort of box (even if it’s a partial one) kicks in and one by one they show up to ruin my photo session! Actually, I get distracted by how cute they are and start photographing them! Maybe that’s their point? They seem to pose for me. Needless to say I have to let them get their “box time” ot of their system before I can finish getting my work done. Here are some photos to show you what I mean…
